“Be Here Now”

Spiritual teachings such as this quote from Ram Dass, are traditionally applied primarily to the mind, but “Be Here Now” is actually a profound physical challenge when looked at through the lens of the nervous system:

  • How well can I employ all of my senses to fully experience the world around me?
  • Am I able to feel my body accurately, coordinate my movement, and focus my thoughts on the task at hand?
  • Can I precisely and efficiently direct my whole being to respond appropriately to the needs of this moment?

The degree to which I can answer YES to all of these questions is a measure of my ability to fully participate in an experience. We all have goals: life experiences we are called to but have not yet had. Achieving new goals often requires waking up parts of the nervous system that we may not even be aware are underperforming. Although physical in application, in many ways, Neuro Performance Training is as spiritual as it gets!

The question, then, is whether the results of your “life inputs” are supporting your performance goals, or potentially hindering them.
